How I Pimped my Bike with Transfers
As a cycling enthusiast, I’m always looking for ways to give my gravel bike a more personal touch, from colorful bar tape to vintage-style handlebar bags. With a bikepacking trip with friends coming up this summer, I wanted to add a small sticker to mark the adventure.
Normally, I would’ve gone for transparent stickers. They’re great, but I’ve never loved the visible edges that show up after a few dusty rides.
That’s when I discovered a real game changer: transfer stickers.
So what is a transfer sticker?
It is a type of sticker without a background or visible border. You place it on your surface, rub it so the design sticks, and then peel away the top layer. What remains is just your design with nothing around it. Pretty nice, right?

Long Miles - Beer Smiles
For the visual, I asked my StickerApp colleague and creative ninja, Moa, to design something. I wanted the logo to be a small reminder of why we’re out there, or at least what’s waiting at the end.... A cold beer after a long day on the trails.
What she created captured it perfectly. A colorful graphic that truly brought that feeling to life!
Like it's painted on the frame
Once applied, the result was exactly what I hoped for. Without a visible background, the design blends seamlessly into the frame, especially on a matte finish like my gravel bike.
And the best part? It holds up. Gravel rides mean dust, mud, rain, and regular washes, but the design stays sharp, with no peeling edges or outlines. It’s a small detail, but it makes the bike feel connected to the trip. Like a tiny badge of the adventure

Stickers on a laptop say a lot about the person behind the screen. They’re tiny windows into someone’s personality: what they love, what inspires them, and the stories they carry every day.
The perfect way, then, to get to know us StickerApp people :-) This month: our French marketing colleague, Séverine.
90's Kid
Growing up in the 90s, Séverine has always loved stickers. So working with them now feels like a full-circle moment. The cassette tape and roller skates are nods to that era, created by one of her favorite artists - and namesake - Séverine Balanqueux, who works mainly in watercolor. “She has a way of capturing nostalgic moments that remind me of a time that felt happy, free, and full of creativity.”
Merde!
As someone responsible for our French partnerships and artist collaborations, Séverine proudly shows her roots on her laptop. It’s covered with designs from French artists she’s worked with. Still, one of her favorite stickers is one she created herself: the one that says “MERDE!”. “It was the first sticker I designed at StickerApp. I just use that word a lot ;-)”

The tension between cute and disturbing
Something Séverine loves about stickers, and art in general, is the tension between opposites. At first glance, something might look soft and sweet, but a closer look reveals a more unsettling edge. Like a beautiful Valentine’s cake with a knife in it, or a cute duck declaring, “I am full of rage.” That contrast is what makes it truly interesting.
Like mother, like son
But there’s one sticker that holds a special place in Séverine’s heart: a small heart drawn by her son when he was six. “At that age, he loved drawing hearts. I turned one of his drawings into a sticker to surprise him, and I’m even thinking of printing it on a T-shirt.” It’s a small reminder that creativity runs in the family.

Remember those free toys you used to get in cereal boxes as a kid? Ohhh those were the DAYS! But that’s the thing, our thank you card delivers the exact same feeling. Opening your package and spotting that little unexpected gift. I mean… Let’s be honest. The free stuff hits different.

You know that “fresh start” feeling? Eat healthy, work out, become your best self. Yeah… until it’s pizza, red wine, and rewatching the same series again. Honestly, that balance feels just right.
This card was illustrated by the talented Justine Jossart, an illustrator and graphic designer based in France. She creates vibrant illustrations, posters, visual identities, and more.

Facebook posts, Instagram stories, and Snapchat messages are great and all… But isn’t it time to bring back the good old postcard?
This one was created by Alexandre Nart, a filmmaker, illustrator, and animator from Bordeaux. Inspired by childhood cartoons and 80s films, his work is colorful, energetic, and full of good vibes.
