How to use the StickerApp editor: 5 tips for making custom stickers
So, you’re making stickers. Maybe you’ve got a finished design ready to upload. Maybe you’ve just got a few words that would look really, really good on something sticky.
Either way, our editor can do a lot more than most people realize. From designing without a file to deciding exactly where the material shines through, here are five things worth knowing before you hit order.

Do I need a finished design to use the StickerApp editor?
No. Choose the square shape to open the editor without uploading a file, then build your sticker with our clipart and text tools. You can change the shape and size later.
Can I choose where the material effect shows?
Yes. The effect placement bar lets you choose full effect, color effect, or no effect, so you decide where the material shows through and where your colors stay clear.
What if I need something the editor doesn’t offer?
Leave us a comment. For example, you can ask for a specific white layer percentage, like 15% or 30%, in a certain part of your design.
Can I print on the back of my stickers?
Yes. With back paper print, you can add a message, contact details, a QR code, or a thank-you to the liner. It’s available on Vinyl, Holographic, Transparent, Mirror, and Pixie Dust.
Can I change my mind once I’m in the editor?
Absolutely. Shape, size, material, and laminate can all be changed in the editor. Just give everything a final check before adding your stickers to the cart.
No file? No problem
You don’t need a finished design to get started. Choose the square shape and you’ll land straight in the editor, no upload required.
It’s perfect when all you want is a sticker with text in a font you can edit right in the editor, or a design built from our clipart. A little illustration, a very specific phrase, or a mix of both. Sometimes that’s all a sticker needs.
And if a square isn’t what you had in mind, no worries. It’s just your starting point. You can adjust the shape and size once you’re in the editor.

How to: Effect placement
Full, color, or no effect?
The material is part of your design, too. The effect placement bar lets you decide where it shows through and where your printed colors stay clear.

Full effect: No ink, no white layer. Just the material as it is. Transparent areas in your artwork use this option.

Color effect: Your colors are printed straight onto the material, which shows through and shapes how they look. The result depends on the material you’ve chosen.

No effect: A white layer underneath blocks the material’s color and effect, so your colors stay clear. The texture may still be visible.

Leave a comment for the details
Some ideas need more words than a button can offer. That’s what the comment button is for.
Say you’re working with Pixie Dust and want a softer sparkle in one area. Leave a comment asking for a specific white layer percentage, like 15% or 30%.
Something like: “Please use a 30% white layer under the pink background and a 100% white layer under the lettering.”

Don’t forget the back
The front gets most of the attention. Fair enough. But the paper you peel off can have a design of its own.

Maybe your design needs more room. Maybe that circle should have been a square. Or maybe you came for white vinyl and got curious about holographic.
