What exactly is the back paper? Well, in techy terms, it’s called a release liner. It’s that white backing you usually just throw away once you’ve applied your sticker.

Back paper is perfect for writing on

This feature is actually the icing on the sticker cake. Why? Because it opens up a world of possibilities.

For instance, the back paper is perfect for writing on. Just imagine all the neat things you can do. And the color reproduction is deeper than the actual sticker, so the back paper works really well if you want to give your sticker dual vibes.

Check out the StickerApp Dude for example. Ever wondered if he wears tighty-whities? Well. He doesn’t. Flip the sticker and you’ll find him rocking a pair of 70s Y-fronts with a yellow trim.

Deeper color reproduction on the back

For alignment purposes, we need at least 1/16” in safety margin to make sure your back paper design looks dandy. Just remember to work with a mirrored cutline. And like we mentioned earlier, the color reproduction is deeper. And the sheen is more subtle. This has to do with material properties – why not utilize this difference in color and shine to really lift your sticker?

Here's the low-down on our backpaper print

Now, if you’re thinking that there’s no end to what you can do with the back paper, you’re right on the money. But if you need a little something to get the ball rolling – take a look at our list below. There’s a whole lot of ways to use this feature, so just go get creative.

  • Make a post card. Use the back for writing your message and addressing the recipient.

  • Make Hang Tag product labels and use the back for product info.

  • And whilst on the subject of Hang Tag stickers, if you sell attire of some sort, include care instructions on the back.

  • How about clues for a kids’ party treasure hunt? Write clues on the back paper, and use the sticker front as a piece of a puzzle that leads to the treasure.

  • How about reversing it? Send out Save the Date-cards, but print the important info on the sticker. That way, the folks you send them to can stick it right in their planner.

  • Make business cards. Add your logo to the front, and contact info on the back paper.

  • Make an eerie, otherworldly version of your sticker design.

  • Make gift cards. Use the back for writing the value and expiry date.

  • Make 2D Christmas baubles. Or easter decor.
