Can I write on vinyl labels?

Not recommended, as most pens will smudge or won’t stick well. Vinyl has a smooth finish that’s not made for handwriting or pen ink.

Handwriting on labels, not recommended for vinyl

Vinyl labels have a smooth, sealed surface that’s excellent for printing, and coated with laminate, i.e. it is not ideal for writing by hand. If you try using a regular pen or marker, the ink might smudge or not stick at all. These labels are made to showcase your printed design in full color, not for after-the-fact edits. If you need to add handwritten elements like batch numbers or dates, we recommend considering our uncoated Kraft labels instead, which are fully writable and still durable.
