How to create white layers

Create a separate layer in your design file for white ink and name it "White" to indicate areas that should be printed with white ink.

Creating White Layers in Your Sticker Design

Creating white layers in your sticker design involves specifying areas where white ink should be applied to block the material's effect from shining through, which is especially important for printing on our special materials. Follow these steps to set up white layers correctly:

  1. Open your artwork: Use a design software such as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop.

  2. Create a new layer: Add a new layer in your document specifically for white ink. Name this layer “HPI-White” for clarity.

  3. Designate white areas: On the “HPI-White” layer, draw or fill in the areas where you want white ink to be printed. This could include backgrounds, text, or specific design elements.

  4. Spot color: Ensure the white areas are set as a spot color named “HPI-White” with CMYK values of 25, 25, 25, 25.

  5. Save your file: Save your design as a PDF, maintaining the layer structure and spot color designation.

By following these steps, you ensure that the white ink is printed accurately, enhancing the visibility and impact of your design, especially on non-white materials.
