Ordering Epoxy Stickers? Read This First

Epoxy stickers are not the shy type. They have that glossy, raised look that makes a design feel a bit more premium. The resin dome adds depth and a smooth finish you can actually feel.

Epoxy stickers are not complicated, but they do need a little more thought than regular stickers. If you are ordering epoxy for the first time, here are a few things worth keeping in mind before checkout.

TL;DR:

  • Keep text larger than you think, small details can get lost under the dome.

  • Check your file for bleed and safe margins. It still matters.

  • Use epoxy on flat or slightly curved surfaces only.

  • Plan ahead, production time is usually around 14 days.

  • Templates exist for a reason. Custom shapes are possible, but may cost extra.

Why Size Matters

Epoxy stickers add a polyurethane resin dome on top of your design.

If your sticker is small:

  • Thin lines can look crowded.

  • Tiny text can become hard to read.

  • Overly detailed artwork can feel compressed.

Rule of thumb:

If you have text, make sure it’s clearly readable at actual size, not just on your screen at 300% zoom.

Before ordering, print your design at real size on regular paper. If it feels tight on paper, it will feel tighter under epoxy.

Before You Upload

Before you upload your file it’s worth double-checking a few basics. Just like with regular stickers, epoxy still needs proper bleed and safe margins. Make sure your background extends about 2 mm past the cut line, and keep important text or small details a little away from the edge. The resin dome follows the exact outline of the sticker, so anything placed too close to the border will be visible in the final result.

Epoxy stickers are delivered on sheets rather than as individual singles, which makes them easy to handle and distribute.

They’re also printed in CMYK, just like our other products. If color accuracy matters, design with print in mind rather than relying on how bright everything looks in RGB on your screen.

A well-prepared file makes the whole process smoother and helps ensure the final stickers look exactly the way you imagined.

Where Are You Using It?

Epoxy stickers are thicker and more rigid than regular vinyl. That stiffness is what gives them their premium, badge-like feel, but it also means they’re not made for every surface.

  • Epoxy stickers work best on flat or slightly curved surfaces. Product packaging, electronics, promotional items, anything that doesn’t need to bend. On these surfaces, the dome sits cleanly and keeps that smooth, glossy finish.

  • Where they struggle is on highly rounded bottles, soft packaging, or anything that bends a lot. If the surface flexes, the epoxy won’t love it.

So before you fall for the shine, think about the surface. A beautiful dome deserves a stable home.

Planning an Event or Product Launch?

You know what they say, good things come to those who wait. So if you’re planning an event, a product launch, or a campaign drop - make sure you give epoxy the time it needs.

Epoxy stickers take a little more patience than regular stickers. After printing, each one is coated with a layer of polyurethane resin that needs time to settle and cure properly. Because of this, epoxy has a slightly longer handling time, usually around 14 days.

So if your deadline is tight, plan ahead. Order earlier than you would with regular vinyl stickers. The premium look is absolutely worth it, but it does require a little patience.

Good things cure slowly.

Templates vs Custom Shapes

Epoxy dome stickers are available in specific template shapes and sizes. These are optimized for the resin dome and give the cleanest results.

If you’re looking for something more unique, custom shapes are absolutely possible. Just keep in mind that special shapes may require additional setup and can come with an extra cost.

Templates are the most cost-effective and production-friendly option. If you need something custom, reach out early so we can guide you properly. You can read more about custom epoxy here.

Final Thoughts

Epoxy isn’t right for every design, and that’s kind of the point. When it fits, it sits.

If you’re after something soft and flexible, there are better options. But if you want a small detail to stand out and feel more like a badge than just a sticker, epoxy does that in a way regular vinyl sticker can’t.

The raised surface catches light and adds depth without you having to overdesign anything. Even a simple logo can feel more finished, more considered, less temporary.
